Tiny Prints Christmas Cards

So I was looking at christmas cards for this year, and OMG have you seen tiny prints cards? They are so freaking cute!! While I was looking they have a great feature on their website where you can add all your favorites and then look at them individually and personalize so you can find the one that is perfect for you.

They have some truely awesome cards. Seriously! They have the normal folding cards, all of which are beautiful, but they also have flat fold cards, round cards that look like ornaments, trifold cards and even ones where your picture is an ornament that spins! How cool is that? I've been having such a hard time trying to decide which one I like the best! Let me show you some of my favorites.

I think this one is my favorite. If I had a little tiny baby I would so use this one, too bad Evangeline isn't due till Feb.
How cute is this for a couples first christmas as Mr and Mrs.? So sweet!

So you see my dilemma? There are just so many awesome cards that its hard to choose from! Want to get some awesome cards yourself? Go here  On the left hand side of the page there are ways to narrow down your results so you can find what your looking for.

I can't wait to start getting cards in the mail! I made a cute little card holder last year from a embroidery hoop some cute fabric and clothes pins. I can't wait to start putting up cards! Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year and I love getting cards and sending them!

Chicken, tomato, and mushroom pasta

So tonight I realized I didn't have everything I needed for dinner, and that I was really not in the mood for garlic, which was a major ingredient for the dinner I had planned. So I just started pulling out what I had to see what I could make. And what I came up with was pretty darn good if I do say so myself, and acording to my husband, I'm really good at making a great meal out of whatever I can find, which I take as the highest complement.
So here's how to make my chicken, tomato and mushroom pasta.
What you need (by the way this was enough for 4 adult size helpings and 1 toddler size helping. )
1 boneless skinless chicken breast.
1 cup italian bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon lipton onion soup mix
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg beaten
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup halved grape tomatoes
1 box whole wheat rotini
olive oil
1 teaspoon italian seasoning.
mozzarella cheese finely grated.

Directions
grease an 8x8 glass pan with olive oil
preheat oven to 450
cut up the chicken breast into small cubes
in a ziploc bag mix bread crumbs, onion soup mix, salt and pepper
dip chicken pieces in egg then put into bag and shake till the chicken pieces are covered. Place chicken in glass pan and continue coating the chicken till its all coated and in the pan. Pour the rest of the bread crumb mix on top of the chicken and bake for 30 min at 450.
Cook the rotini according to package directions
Saute mushrooms and tomatoes in olive oil. about half way through mix in 1 teaspoon italian seasoning.
Mix the mushrooms and tomatoes mixture with the cooked pasta, and the chicken.
Pour the rest of the crumbs from the cooked chicken into the pasta as well. Mix well.
Serve with some of the mozzarella on top. I also fried some polenta to go on the side.
Sorry not the best picture, but it is really yummy.

Oh I may be crazy

But I'm going cloth! With Tabitha I wanted to do cloth diapers but it really wasn't feasible. We weren't in our own place and using the washer everyday was not an option, heck I was lucky if I got to do laundry once a week, not really conductive to doing cloth. So we did disposables and threw away a lot of money. So now I've decided I'm gonna give cloth a try. I found a site called cottenbabies that sells preloved diapers for $7 each which seems reasonable to me. I'm also looking at consignment stores and on ebay and craigslist, but I found a bunch of websites on how to make your own diapers. Now let me tell you, I'm super intimidated! But I was horrible at sewing before I had Tabitha, I just had to keep working at it. Now I make most of Tabitha's dresses and skirts, some of her shirts and even a few pairs of pants. I've also made her bibs and started making burp cloths for Evangeline. I figure if I can make burp cloths I can make pre-folds right? I also found patterns for soakers that look pretty easy and tons of patterns and tutorials on how to make pocket diapers and a few on how to make all in ones. I figure I'll make a few of each and buy a few and try them on Tabitha first to see how it works. She's not ready for potty training but i'm tired of buying diapers too, so why not switch her to cloth as well, i'll always be able to use them for Evangeline right?
So here are some of the sites i'm using to help me on my way:
see kate sew did a tutorial on making inserts for gdiapers that look pretty easy, also she said they were less than $1 per insert, thats my kind of insert right there!

Tidy Tangle did a post on making cloth diapers out of old t-shirts! Hello! I'm all about reusing! This looks awesome. Plus she links to a site with a pattern and instruction booklet!
sew your own diapers has a ton of tutorials on how to sew multiple kinds of diapers, and it looks like it will be a lot of help as well.
this is one of the AIO diapers that you can make. Looks amazing! I'm sure mine won't be as good but I can try!
Sweet and Sassy girls did a post on making your own flip style covers which would work well with the gdiaper cloth inserts from tity tangle as well!
Goodness gracious free diaper patterns has you guessed it free diaper patterns! haha!
Tutu Mafia has a post with a pdf pattern on making your own diapers that I need to try!
How cute is that little diaper!
I also found this youtube video on Pintrest,

Holycraft has a great post on cloth diapers and wipes and tells you how to make your own flannel wipes and the solution to use with them. Easy peasy lemon squeezey!
I found a recipe for cloth diaper laundry soap on Aiko Art, which is awesome, because i've been thinking of making my own laundry soap when we run out of the all free and clear we have.

SO obviously there is a lot I need to learn before I embark on this journey and I'm sure i'll have a lot more downs than I have ups, but I'm really gonna try to do this!  Wish me luck, and if any of you have done this please, leave me links, encouragement, book recommendations and the like!

Happy Fall Y'all!

So the other day it totally looked like fall and I was so excited, then it started snowing. Eh, thats what you get in Idaho. I'm super excited about my new wreath I finished last night. Sorry no pics of how I made it because it was so super easy. All you need is a foam wreath form, brown flannel, tulle in maroon, yellow, green, gold and brown, orange ribbon (I used 2 yards), and some red felt.
step 1. Cut the flannel into strips and glue it to your foam wreath, I wraped a little then glued where ever it puckered and at the ends of the strips. Over lap the strips just a little.
Step 2. cut the tulle into strips. Make them as long or as short as you like but make sure they are long enough to go around the wreath while folded in half.
Step 3. Alternating the strips of tulle wrap the wreath with the tulle like you would if you were doing a no sew tutu. Fold the tulle in half lay the wreath on top of the tulle. pull the ends through the loop of the folded tulle and pull it tight. You can do this for as big or small as you want the tail feathers to be. Throw in some orange ribbon every little while. Take the ribbon and tie a knot as tight to the wreath as possible.
Step 4 Make the head by taking the flannel and filling it with scraps. Then pull the edges in and glue to itself.
Step 5 cut out the red and glue to the back of the head.
Step 6 glue the head to the wreath
Step 7 glue a google eye to the face.
Step 8 wrap orange ribbon around the bottom of the wreath and tie a tight knot for the legs of the turkey.
And your done!

I linked this up to Craft-O-Maniac, and I Heart nap time sundae scoop!
